Benchmark™ IMRT QA Phantom |
|
MEDTEC’s exclusive Benchmark IMRT QA Phantom offers patented “plug and play” data paks, which are designed to make working with almost any dosimeter simple and efficient. Benchmark users benefit from the phantom’s versatility during commissioning of their IMRT programs, as well as routine QA of individual patient plans. The phantom can be positioned either vertically, as pictured here, or the Virtual Water™ blocks can be stacked horizontally.
The Benchmark IMRT QA Phantom is a versatile module-based QA phantom that accommodates a range of radiation measuring tools, including ion chambers, MOSFET dosimeters, TLD chips, radiochromatic film, Ready-pak film, polymer gel (optional) and diodes (optional).
Ion chambers can be inserted into custom-drilled plugs, around lung-equivalent material and within bone-equivalent material. The bone-equivalent plug can be surrounded with MOSFET dosimeters, for example, to measure dose distribution to the spinal cord. The phantom also accommodates ready-pak film. The film slides easily between the film slots and can be identified via fiducial coordinates made with a film marker and embedded fiducial markers. In addition, a data pak features modules for TLD chips and radiochromatic film.
- Compatible with the entire IMRT process.
- CT-friendly with proven image-quality engineering and fiducial markers.
- Absolute dose verification in multiple locations.
- Verification of 3D volume dose distributions by varying detector positions.
- Ideal for evaluation of RTP inhomogeneity correction using tissue-equivalent inserts.
- Verification of spatial magnification within CT image.
- Modular design for customization and upgrades.
- Dimensions: 18 x 30 x 35 cm.
Some of the things that were important to us in a phantom were that it was efficient to use, very versatile, and made of Virtual Water.™ It needed to accommodate, at a minimum, film and ion chambers, and potentially some other dosimeters. It became very clear to us that the MEDTEC IMRT Phantom met all of our needs.
