ARM Water Scanners are manufactured with accuracy, simplicity, and portability in mind. The scanner focuses on simplicity with arms that provide phantom leveling adjustments rather than leveling the tank. The drive mechanics framework is made of black anodized machined aircraft aluminum.
Both the 2D and 3D systems data acquisition provides optional resolutions of 1.0, 0.5, 0.2, and 0.1 mm.
The systems interface with all major treatment planning systems. All scanner motions are controlled by iBox (intelligent Box). The iBox features an INTEL microprocessor, and controls scanner motions and data acquisition using embedded firmware. The iBox measures 18 x 18 x 5.5 cm.
Both systems can be used with a laptop or desktop PC and run on Windows 95/98/ME/NT with a single serial cable providing the only link with its outside laptop.
The scanners are supplied with a specially designed case for ease of portability.
The ARM software is designed for ease of use while offering full functionality. The data collection mode includes “Scripts,” a user defined routine for scanning sets of data, including depth dose and profiles for specified field sizes. Comprehensive data analysis functions are supplied for depth dose and profile measurements of photon and electron beams based on the specifications of the linac as well as industry standard protocols.
MT-ARM-2000M

- The portable design enables 15 second assembly and disassembly.
- The scanning area measures 50 x 40 cm.
- A special coupling mechanism between the horizontal and vertical arms maintains true perpendicularity.
- Scanner motions are lead screw driven with no timing belts.
- Positional accuracy and reproducibility of 0.1 mm is achieved.

The patented Dynamic Phantom is based on the simple principle that most scatter comes from a relatively small volume surrounding the detector. It provides an appropriate volume of Virtual Water™ (or acrylic) around the chamber for scanning without water, with results that approximate water scanning measurements:
- Scans cross profiles with the same results of the larger tanks.
- Scans at any gantry angle.
- Provided with a rotary mechanism, scans at any scanning angle.
- Scanning area measures 40 x 40 cm at 100 SAD.
- Buildups of acrylic or Virtual Water are supplied, providing thicknesses from 1 to 10 cm in steps of 0.5 cm. A lead screw provides horizontal motion with 0.1 mm positional accuracy.
- Saves space – the phantom volume is 1/50 of a conventional tank.
- Sets up in only seven minutes.
- No water needed.
