The Type-S System was developed to offer a high degree of stability for the head, neck and shoulders. The system is ideal for IMRT and conformal treatments in a 360˚ arc. The Type-S system features:

  • Minimal attenuation
  • CT-compatibility
  • Accepts head-only or head, neck and shoulder thermoplastics
  • Indexable

Head Extension

The Type-S Head Extension hooks easily on the superior end of select LINAC couchtops. It comes with a reloadable head-only frame for Type-S thermoplastics.


Overlay Board

The overlay board extends off the end of the treatment couch. It comes with a reloadable head-only frame for Type-S Thermoplastics.

Mastercouch® Module

Extends off the end of the Mastercouch to provide compatibility between the Mastercouch® and the Type-S system.

Variable Axis Baseplate

The Variable Axis Baseplate integrates with any Type-S Baseplate to provide a tilting movement with patient fixation in the prone and supine positions. The unique variable axis design allows for natural head and neck movement during patient set-up. The carbon fiber baseplate accommodates Type-S head-only thermoplastics. The Variable Axis base plate can accommodate the Prone Headrest with the use of the SIN-301016 adaptor plate.
