 In the demanding environment of IMRT, the need for accurate repositioning and secure immobilization is greater than ever before. The Type-S system was designed to meet this challenge by providing stability for the head, neck, and shoulders while extending off the couchtop for treatments in a 360˚ arc. Made of radiotranslucent carbon fiber, the Type-S system extends off of PET, CT, simulator, or linac couches for accurate repositioning from imaging through treatment delivery.
The popular Type-S system is available in three versatile styles: the standard overlay board, a couchtop head extension, and the Fixator™ featuring mechanical shoulder suppression.
 Type-S Overlay, MT-CFHN-C
Then Type-S Overlay Board indexes to the top of the CT, PET, simulator, or treatment couches, extending off the end with a carbon fiber grid. An Overlay Board needs to be used on all CT tops, even those equipped with IPPS™ technology.
 Type-S Head Extension, MT-CFHN-C-V
The Type-S Head Extension hooks easily on the superior end of select IPPS linac couchtops. The Head Extension and Overlay Board are compatible with each other for reproducible patient set-ups between couchtops.
 Fixator, MT-CFHN-006
The Fixator maintains the treatment benefits of the Type-S Overlay Board while adding valuable shoulder suppression abilities. The system features adjustable carbon fiber padded positioners that gently cup the patient’s shoulders, capturing and positioning them out of the treatment field. Indexed nomenclature allows for easily recorded shoulder repositioning. Type-S head-only IMRT Reinforced ThermoplasticTM masks are recommended for use with this system.

| | The Variable-Axis Baseplate integrates with the Type-S or Fixator fixation system to provide accurate patient positioning in prone or supine positions. The unique variable axis design allows for natural head and neck movement during patient set-up, eliminating undesirable neck compression. The system includes the Variable Axis Baseplate and a prone positioning cushion with cut-away portals that open the patient’s field of view. |
