Accurate, comfortable, reproducible head and neck positioning demands a head and neck support that limits rotation setup errors. Custom-molded head supports offer a higher degree of patient positioning and accuracy, along with enhanced patient comfort. A customized neck support is essential in high-precision radiotherapy, including IMRT.
AccuForm cushions are ideal for high-precision head and neck treatments when enhanced comfort, stability, and repositioning accuracy are key. This soft, cloth-covered pillow is filled with tiny beads coated in water-curable resin. When sprayed with water, the cushion becomes pliable, allowing it to be formed to the patient's specific anatomical contours, including custom pitch and rise. After a few minutes the cushion forms a rigid, yet comfortable, custom mold. AccuForm cushions are for single patient use. |

Vac-Lok custom-formed vacuum cushions provide comfortable support of the head and neck as well as the upper shoulders. Filled with tiny polystyrene beads, the cushion forms a rigid mold when a vacuum is pulled. The versatile system can be used to create a patient specific cradle, and is reuseable after the patient treatment cycle is complete. Vac-Lok cushions are available in a variety of shapes and sizes in both polyurethane or nylon finishes. The nylon cushions are IPPS-compatible. |

A helpful Cushion Retainer holds an AccuForm™ or Vac-Lok™ custom-molded cushion inside the confines of the Type-S™ shape during the molding process. After the Cushion Retainer is removed the thermoplastic cast can be easily pulled and fit to the system. |
