MEDTEC’s IPPS couchtops feature patented indexing “hemispheres” along the length of the couch or tabletop. Coupled with our patented two pin Lok-Bar™, these couchtops provide the necessary foundation for accurate indexing and reliable patient set-ups within your department.
An easy-on, easy-off indexed overlay top has been designed for CT, PET, and most simulator tables. This is especially ideal for centers that share their diagnostic units with other hospital departments.
For linac tables, we offer the option of either indexed overlay tops that affix to the original support frame, or entire replacement couchtops that include complete lower-attenuating support frames.

IPPS™ couchtops are made of radiotranslucent carbon fiber with carbon fiber grid panels. Solid carbon fiber inserts – with identical indexing notches or hemispheres – are also available for both Varian and Siemens couches. The solid panels reduce “sag” associated with a grid design, providing consistent patient setups from CT through treatment.
The Varian Exact® couch has the same 14 cm standardized positions as all IPPS couchtops and overlays.

Siemens ZXT couchtop/overlay with Interloc® Indexing
When ordering a Lok-Bar, keep in mind the four styles of bars and their associated uses:
• Prodigy™ Lok-Bar - This Lok-Bar is used for all protruding hemisphere style indexing tops.
• Exact® Lok-Bar - Order this Lok-Bar for all Varian notch-style indexing tops.
• Interloc™ Lok-Bar - This Lok-Bar can be used for MEDTEC, notch-style indexing tops.
• Transverse Bar - This indexing bar features a sliding two-pin section that allows for lateral movement of the positioning device while maintaining lateral crosshair targeting. This bar is ideal for positioning breastboards for maximum gantry clearance, and for positioning head and neck baseplates to the table’s edge for cone treatments. |
