MEDTEC’s exclusive carbon fiber table and spine inserts provide accurate and reproducible positioning for simulator and treatment couches. Each MEDTEC insert is formed under our exclusive tension-cut process, making our grids the strongest available. The rigid radiotranslucent carbon fiber inserts eliminate sag and are designed to replace the factory-installed “tennis racket” panels. Carbon fiber inserts are available in both carbon fiber grid and solid (foam core) carbon fiber for most simulators and linacs. Both styles feature an all carbon fiber frame, making the entire unit radiotranslucent. To ensure minimum deflection characteristics of the grid-style inserts, each panel is tested in accordance with linear accelerator manufacturers' specifications. Testing procedures including placing 55 pounds on a 5"x5" square on the grid panel; deflection must be less than .310" to be acceptable. Grid-style inserts include a replaceable mylar cover.
