The Huestis Compu•former produces high-resolution compensators that help deliver uniform dose distribution, making it possible for any size radiation therapy department to provide IMRT.
The Compu•former produces a mold used to make a compensator that provides radiation beam attenuation to “compensate” for inhomogeneity. The mold is cut from a foam block using a highly accurate CNC milling machine.
A Windows®-driven program interfaces with treatment planning systems for quick, accurate beam compensation.
Designed for treatment planning, the Beam Modulation Workstation links the Compu•former and Compu•cutter® systems for quick, precise compensator milling and block cutting accurate to +/-1mm.

| | Extremely accurate The computerized, three-axis milling machine ensures cutting accuracy. Milling can be done quickly, remotely, and at any time. |
Uniform radiation dosage - Delivers uniform radiation dosage over the entire treatment area
- Creates a compensating filter mold which provides radiation beam attenuation to “compensate” for inhomogeneity
Treatment planning interfaces - Digitized files can be transferred from TPS
- Treatment planning file conversion is built-in to ensure seamless integration
Precision milling accuracy - Three-axis CNC milling machine ensures accuracy of +1mm
- Cuts offset registration holes in block to ensure proper orientation of the compensator on lexan tray
| | Ease of use - Milling can be done remotely, at any time, freeing valuable treatment space
- Uses pre-cut foam blocks
- Produces compensators up to approximately 22cm square
- Changes for reduction ratio and treatment geometry are programmed into the procedure
Compensator material - User-definable compensating material
- Stainless steel powder, gypsum, and water mixture recommended
